The highly anticipated World Poker Tour (WPT) Vietnam Passport to the World Championship scheduled to take place from May 14 to 27 2024 has been abruptly cancelled due to technical reasons leaving poker enthusiasts surprised and disappointed. Crown Poker Club the host venue issued an emergency notice citing technical reasons and the best intentions for all athletes as the cause for the cancellation. This unexpected turn of events is a blow to the poker community as the series promised ten packages to the third annual festivities in Las Vegas and a lucrative prize pool exceeding VN₫ 50 Billion (~$2 Million).

In general it is not quite common for a poker festival to be cancelled let alone just before the start. Even more so when it comes to big series like the WPT. In Vietnam however this is exactly what happened and its not the first time either.
